On July 20th in the afternoon, we left Narita Airport for Moncton in Canada. The flight took about fourteen hours and we arrived at Moncton at midnight of July 21st.
We were surprised to see so many beautiful stars in the sky. There were no buildings like the ones in Tokyo. We stayed at a dormitory at Mount Allison University for eight days.
In Moncton, we took an ESL class and learned about Canadian culture, Canadian money and Canada's geography and we did many activities in the evening. The three best activities were the summer Halloween costume contest, a radio talk show, and Dance night.
For the Halloween costume contest, we dressed up in costumes we made ourselves. Everyone made very original costumes and the contest was so fun. Ms. Nishiyama and I won the best couple prize and we won a T-shirt. We could talk in English with the Japanese international students who came from Osaka and we had such a nice time.
Next, we were on a radio station as a guest, and we answered some questions. My question was about my sister. We were so nervous, but we could have a very special time. We gave a final presentation on the last day. This year the contents of our presentation were making a TV program. Everyone prepared for it so hard, and everyone's presentation was very funny and interesting.
Finally, dance night, which was held on our last evening in Moncton. We went to a pub and had a very good time with international music students. They were so kind that we could get along well with them all. It was a very good end to our wonderful days in Moncton.
Then on July 28th, after we cleaned our room, though we hated to leave Moncton, we left for PEI by bus.
In the eight days in Moncton, the weather was almost always so nice that we could live there very comfortably. All of the people at the university were very kind, and they listened kindly to our poor English. Day by day, we discovered many new things, and we could live a full life.

7月21日から8日間、ニューブランズウィック州モンクトンにあるマウントアリソン大学の寮で過ごしました。夜には美しい星を見ることが出来る自然豊かなキャンパスでした。平日の日中に行われたＥＳＬの授業ではカナダの文化、通貨、地理などについて学び、午後には様々なアクティビティを楽しみました。その中でも特に心に残ったのは、真夏のハロウィン仮装コンテスト、ラジオ出演、そして最終日のダンスナイトでした。
真夏のハロウィンでは自前のコスチュームに身を包み、大阪からいらしていた日本人留学生も混ざって一緒にゲームをしました。私は仮装コンテストで1位になり、大学オリジナルのＴシャツをいただきました。
ラジオ出演体験では自分の家族についての質問に英語で答えました。自分の声がサックビルの街に流れると思うととても緊張しましたが、貴重な体験となりました。
また最終日前夜にはこれまでのＥＳＬで学んだことの集大成としてプレゼンテーションを行いました。今年のテーマはテレビ番組制作というものでしたが、各グループとも工夫したとても楽しい発表でした。
最後の夜のダンスナイトでは音楽を学びに来ていたカナダ人中高生たちと一緒におしゃべりをしたりダンスを楽しむことで、とても仲良くなることが出来ました。マウントアリソン大学での楽しかった日々をしめくくるとても楽しい夜となりました。
モンクトンでは毎日天候に恵まれ、とても快適に過ごすことが出来ました。大学のキャンパス内にいる方はどの方もとても親切でつたない私の英語も一生懸命聞いてくれました。毎日新しい発見があり、充実した時間を過ごすことが出来ました。
