｢カナダ語学研修｣

学年：中学部3年：S.W.さん　　高等部一年：K.T.さん，N.K.さん

期間：2014年7月18日(金)～8月6日(水)

We returned to Japan from our English Study Program for 20 days. During the first 7 days, we stayed at Mount Allison University. It was surrounded by nature, so it was a very wonderful place. We had ESL classes on weekdays. They were very interesting and the teachers were very kind. After class we went to church and we sang many songs. In the afternoon, we did many activities with university students. We went shopping for getting Halloween Costumes and then we enjoyed the Summer Halloween Party. And we visited Fort Beausejour and then we learned Canadian history and culture with university students. So it was very interesting.

On the last night, we gave presentation to everyone who took care of us. We prepared for that during ESL class. And then last program was Karaoke/Dance Party. We were so excited to dance and sang many songs.

It is important for me to take a positive attitude. That is what I learned. And I want to go there again! (S.W)

We stayed in Prince Edward Island from July 27^th to August 5^th. I will talk about activities there.

On Monday, we visited Province House. Political leaders decided to build Canada in the building. There was a real room that they used for discussing. Its decorations were so beautiful. On Tuesday, we went on a tour of Anne of Green Gables. We visited Green Gables. I felt that I became a character of the story. Also, we walked on Lovers Lane. Sunlight filtered through the trees there. Green Gables is the most beautiful place I have ever been. On Wednesday, we enjoyed Anne of Green Gables Musical. I was surprised that Anne's house has 2 floors on the stage. Everyone felt deep emotion. On Thursday, we visited Cow's Ice Cream Factory. This is the most famous company in Canada. They sell not only ice cream but also cheese or T-shirts. We enjoyed tasting samples of chocolate ice cream. On Friday, we visited the historical house which was built when Canada was established. We learned the old lifestyle. In the afternoon, we went to a nice beach. Some made sandcastles, others played in the sea. There were some jellyfishes and a few crabs.

On the last day in PEI, we went to Camp Seggie at first. We folded Origami with small children and we sung "Country Road" together. We had a good time. Finally, we had Farewell Party. We gave presentations on Japanese culture for host families. After that, we had a BBQ with them. We enjoyed talking with them and last supper.

I learned Canadian culture and history on this trip. I came to like speaking English! (K.T)

Next, I'm going to talk about our host family. One of my friends and I stayed with host father, host mother, host brother, two host sisters and their dog. We were staying with our host family and some Canadian families at a campsite for 6 days. We slept in a tent every night. So many stars could be seen. We enjoyed at the campsite and did campfire in nature of Prince Edward Island. It's not so easy to communicate with foreigners in English, but Canadians and we could understand and respect each other.

One day, we played card games with Canadian teenagers. I was very happy they welcomed us and I could communicate with them. Our host family listened to us a lot and they spoke English slowly. They tried to learn Japanese language and about Japan. I felt I wanted to know more about Canada. I felt very happy they treated us as real members of their family. I could have great time with them.

Finally, we thank our parents, teachers, friends, people we met in Canada and God. (N.K)

私達は20日間のカナダ語学研修から戻って参りました。

初めの7日間は、マウントアリソン大学に滞在しました。

そこは自然に囲まれたとても素敵な場所でした。平日は、毎日英語の授業があり、先生方は優しく、とても楽しく過ごすことができました。

授業の後は、教会へ行き沢山の歌を歌いました。

午後は、大学の生徒の方々と一緒に様々なアクティビティをしました。

真夏のハロウィーンパーティーのためのコスチュームを買いに出かけ、夜はパーティーを楽しみました。

また、カナダの歴史を学ぶためフォートボジュールを訪ねました。とても興味深い体験でした。

最後の夜は、私達がお世話になった方々に、日本とカナダの違いをテーマにプレゼンテーションを行い、その後はカラオケ&ダンスパーティーをしました。

沢山の歌を歌ったり踊ったりして、大変楽しいひとときを過ごすことができました。

今回のプログラムを体験して学んだことは、何にでも積極的に取り組むということです。是非、またカナダに行きたいです！(S.W)

私たちは7月27日から8月5日まで、プリンスエドワード島に滞在しました。これから、そこでの体験をお話したいと思います。

まず月曜日に、州議会を訪ねました。

その建物の中で政治家たちがカナダを建国することを決めたそうです。

実際に会議で使われた部屋などがあり、その装飾はとても美しいものでした。

火曜日には、赤毛のアンツアーに行きました。

あの緑の切妻屋根の家に入ることができました。

まるで、物語のキャラクターになったような気持ちでした。

また、ガイドさんに恋人の小径にも案内していただきました。

木漏れ日が小径を輝かせていました。

グリーン・ゲイブルズは私が今まで訪れた場所の中で、1番美しいところだと思います。

水曜日は、アンのミュージカルを楽しみました。

私はステージ上のアンの家が2階建てで、本物そっくりだったことに驚きました。

みんなとても感動していました。

木曜日には、カウズのアイスクリーム工場を見学しました。

これはカナダで最も有名な会社です。

アイスクリームだけでなく、チーズやTシャツも販売しています。

そこで、チョコレートアイスクリームの試食をおいしくいただきました。

金曜日は、カナダ建国と同じ年に建てられた、歴史的な家を案内していただきました。

昔の生活の様子を知ることができました。

午後には、素敵なビーチに行きました。

そこでは砂の城を作ったり、波打ち際で遊んだりしました。クラゲやカニなどが見られました。

そしてプリンスエドワード島での最終日、私たちはまずキャンプ地に行きました。

小さな子どもたちと折り紙を折り、一緒にカントリーロードを歌いました。

とても充実した時間を過ごしました。夕方、フェアウェルパーティーをしました。

そしてホストファミリーに日本についてのプレゼンテーションを行いました。

そのあとバーベキューをして、ホストファミリーとの会話と最後の夕食を楽しみました。

私はこの研修でカナダの文化や歴史を学び、また英語を話す楽しさを知ることができました。(K.T)

続いて、ホストファミリーについてお話をします。

私と友人の２人は、ホストファザー、ホストマザー、ホストブラザー、２人のホストシスターと愛犬が住む家に滞在しました。

私たちはホストファミリーと一緒にキャンプサイトで６日間過ごしました。

そこで、いくつかのカナダ人の家族と出会いました。

私たちは、毎日テントの中で寝泊りをしました。

たくさんの星を見ることができ、プリンス・エドワード島の自然に囲まれて、現地の子供達と遊んだり、キャンプファイアーをしたりして楽しみました。

英語で外国人とコミュニケーションをとることは簡単ではありませんでしたが、カナダの人々と私たちはお互いに理解し合い、尊重しあえたと思います。

ある日、私たちは、同世代のカナダ人の子供達とトランプをしました。

彼らが私たちを歓迎してくれ、お互いに打ち解け、仲良くなれたことがとても嬉しかったです。

ホストファミリーは、私たちの話をたくさん聞いてくれ、英語をゆっくり聞きやすいように話してくれました。

また、彼らは日本のことや日本語について知ろうとしてくれました。

私は、カナダのことをより知りたくなりました。彼らが私たちと本当の家族のように接してくれたことが本当に嬉しかったです。

素晴らしい時間を彼らと共有することができ、とても幸せでした。

この語学研修に参加させてくれた両親、先生、友達、カナダで出会った人々、そして神様に感謝しています。(N.K)
